Untitled (Familiar Smells)

This work is woven from evaporating odors which symbolise memories. Beautiful, conflict-free descriptions of memories are accompanied by an excerpt from the story of Edgar Allan Poe “Ligeia” which I haven't re-read since I was 6 years old: the only passage left in my memory is how the hero tries to restore the image of his wife’s face, but the image eludes him. The artist from whom the images escape, no longer knows whether she is fulfilling her will, embodying her idea or losing it, sinking in ephemeral nature of memories and aftertaste of once familiar and different smells of memories.
